What a mobile locksmith can do at the roadside
Almost everything the workshop can do. On site we cut and program replacement keys, originate keys for cars with no working key left, repair and re-sync remotes, replace worn key shells and batteries, and open cars that have locked themselves with the key inside.
What we can't do in a car park is heavy mechanical work — a barrel that's been drilled or forced, or an ignition that needs the steering column stripped, is a workshop job. We'll tell you which one you've got on the phone.
How much does a mobile callout cost?
A mobile job is the price of the key plus a callout for bringing the workshop to you. The callout covers the travel and the van; the key price is the same work we'd quote at the bench.
What moves the number:
- Where the car is — inner Brisbane suburbs are a shorter run than the outer edges
- Time of day — after-hours and weekend callouts cost more than a Tuesday morning
- Key type — a basic blade key, a flip remote, or a proximity key for a push-start car
- Whether a working key still exists — cloning a spare is quicker than originating from scratch
If the car can be driven or towed to Holland Park West, that's always the cheaper option. We'll say so rather than sell you a callout you don't need.
How quickly can you get here?
It depends on where our vans are when you call. On a normal day most Brisbane callouts are reached within a couple of hours, and the job itself takes another 30 to 90 minutes once we're on site.
We give you a real arrival window on the phone, not a vague promise. If we're held up on the job before yours, you'll hear from us.
Is it safe where you're parked?
Tell us if the car is somewhere that changes the urgency — blocking a driveway, in a paid car park about to close, on a busy road, or with a child or pet inside. A locked car with someone inside is an emergency; call 000 first, then call us.
If you're waiting somewhere isolated or late at night, wait somewhere lit and public if you can. We'll ring when we're close.
What we need from you
Cutting a key to a car at the roadside is exactly as serious as it sounds, so there's a short check before we start:
- Photo ID
- Proof the car is yours — registration papers, insurance, or a rego check that matches your ID
- The registration number, or the VIN if you have it
- The exact location, including the level and bay if it's a car park
It takes a minute and it protects you as much as us.

Can you make a key if I've lost every one?
Yes, and we do it at the roadside. We originate the key from your car's data rather than copying an existing one, so no original is needed.
I've locked the keys inside the car. Can you open it?
Yes. We open the car without damaging the lock or the door. If a child or pet is locked inside, call 000 first, then call us.
Is mobile more expensive than coming to the workshop?
Yes — you're paying for the travel and the van as well as the key. If the car can safely be driven or towed to Holland Park West, that's the cheaper route and we'll tell you so.
